Kindergarten blues

OH MY! How the time has flown by. In just 2 weeks time my little man will be graduating from kindergarten! Kindergarten!!!! Didn’t school just start? I am not ready for this. But, I wasn’t ready to send him either. It’s inevitable though. It will happen. I will walk him up to his school for the last time as a kindergartener on July 6. I will kiss him and hug him goodbye. When the bell rings and he returns at the end of the day, we say goodbye to his teacher, to his very first year of school, to his friends he made along the way, and welcome first grade.

It’s a tough journey as a mom to see our kids grow up. EVERYONE and I mean everyone tells you, “don’t blink, they grow so fast”, but, you never really realize how true it is. I still remember the day I gave birth to him. Every single detail from every minute. I remember I was wearing my husbands Dallas Mavericks Western Conference Finals Champion t-shirt while sitting in our big, giant, oversized recliner while watching the movie Because I Said So on Netflix while talking to my mom on the phone. It was 10:00pm on a Saturday night July 7, 2007. I started having contractions, every 10min. Yes, every single detail! I could go on! Now, here we are about to have a kindergarten graduate. Okay, the tears are starting to flow. 🙁 I think I will be a mess up until the last day of school and then a few days after.
