Peanut Butter Recall

PB&J is a staple in many homes– it’s what kids pick for their lunch day after day.  We want to make sure your PB is legit please take a look in your cabinet and check to see if your Peanut Butter is on the recall list!  The brand in question is Trader Joe’s Valencia Creamy Salted Peanut Butter, 30 people have become ill across 19 states.   Trader Joe’s has also recalled Joe’s Valencia Peanut Butter with Roasted Flaxseeds, Crunchy and Salted and Trader Joe’s Almond Butter with Roasted Flaxseeds, Crunchy and Salted.

Trader Joe’s has voluntarily taken their peanut butter of the shelves, but please make sure you have too.  Sunland is the company who makes the peanut butter for Trader Joe’s they also make products sold with the labels Fresh & Easy, Open Nature, Sprouts and Archer Farms {Found at Target}.

Below are the symptoms of salmonella infection:

  • diarrhea
  • fever and abdominal cramps
  •  The illness usually lasts 2 to 7 days, and most people recover without treatment.
  • However in severe cases hospitalization is needed.
