Spoonful of Comfort – A Gift in Review

Have you ever been at a loss for what to get that special person in your life? If they need cheering up, have had their own loss, are sick, just had a new baby, or even gone off to college?  I was so excited to learn about Spoonful of Comfort this past week!  You see, I’m not really a “flowers” kinda gal, I mean, I like them, but personally, I do love food more, so when I was contacted to share my thoughts on Spoonful of Comfort, I was beyond thrilled!  Really, who doesn’t love a bowl of chicken noodle soup!

When my little care package arrived from Spoonful of Comfort, it was sent all wrapped up snuggly with insulated liners and a gel ice pack to insure that everything would arrive safely and securely.  After I took apart the outside packaging, I was simply blow away by the beautiful way it was displayed.  I’ve seen a lot of products come through my door and this one made me stop and just say “Wow, this packaging, it’s so home-like!” out loud even though no one else was in the room.  I was simply in awe with the packaging!  {Nice work Spoonful of Comfort!}  I received my gift in three separate packages.  The one shown above was with a very pretty silver soup ladle along with a huge glass jar filled with what looked like the most amazing looking chicken noodle soup, it was a half gallon of soup mind you!!  In another box, there were 6 homemade dinner rolls, that just looked so scrumptious I could have eaten all 6 right there!  I love dinner rolls!  And in another smaller box were 6 large Oatmeal Raisin cookies. {You have a choice of Chocolate Chip or Oatmeal Raisin – I would have preferred the chocolate chip, but I was excited to give the Oatmeal Raisin a fair chance.}  So, after “oohing and ahhing” I decided it was time to test it all out!

Let’s talk soup.  I honestly couldn’t say anything bad about the soup.  The noodles were thick {I love a thick noodle}, the carrots were cut well, celery and chicken, it was all there.  It was really, really good.  I sort of wished I was sick just a little because I’m sure it would have made me feel 1000 times better! 🙂  It is made using all natural products and flavorings so it was absolutely delicious!  It was probably one of the best chicken noodle soups I’ve had thus far!  It receives two thumbs up for me there!  But what about the dinner rolls and the cookies?  Ahhh the dinner rolls.  The key to my heart…bread.  OMG they were SO good!  I heated them up a tad and added a touch of butter…mmmmmm mmm mm!  There is nothing better than homemade bread…of any kind!  Two thumbs up there for me too! And the cookies….not being a huge Oatmeal Raisin fan, I tasted them anyway and I ate them….2 of them, my kids ate the rest which was a good thing because I’d probably have eaten a couple more if they were still around.  They were so fresh and chewy like they were just baked.  I heated one up just to see if it tasted like it just came out of the oven, and it did! lol  I was so excited that 1. I liked it even though I didn’t think I would, and 2. my kids ate them and liked them too! So, either way, it was a win, win here for the cookies!  Another two thumbs up for the cookies!

I am so glad to be able to share Spoonful of Comfort with you because not everyone is a flower person.  Some of us love food and would rather have people spend their money on something they will really enjoy and get comfort from.  This company really shows that it loves it’s products, but that it also loves presenting them in a way that makes the recipient really “feel” the love that is being sent to them by the way of food.  Can you imagine having a new baby and receiving this for a dinner one night?  Us parents know that becoming a new parent is exhausting and to have a dinner already cooked and sent to you to just heat up, I would have loved that as a new mom.  Or what about your son or daughter who is at college?  You know they aren’t big on cooking there {or so I’ve heard} and with finals you know they aren’t eating well, so what about receiving some delicious homemade chicken noodle soup, cozy socks and chocolate chip cookies?  There are so many different options to choose from but with any of them, the person you are sending it too will know you love them, they’ll just know by opening their box of goodies!  With Mother’s Day right around the corner, this may be a great way to tell mom you love her.  Send her a gift from Spoonful of Comfort and give her a break from cooking! 🙂  Gifts range from $24.99 to $89.99 and this gift is worth every penny spent!  You’re going to love it as much as I do, I just know it!

Are you a foodie or do you prefer flower power?
