The 10-year anniversary of the 9/11 attacks is approaching. Many parents wonder how they should speak about this day with their children, one publishing company wants to help with a memorial coloring book. The book is titled “We Shall Never Forget 9/11: The Kids’ Book of Freedom,” however the contents of the book have some wondering if this book should be shared with children. Some think the book paints a negative picture of all Muslims, and that this could make children think all Muslims are bad people. Some also believe the pictures are too violent for children. Nonetheless, the publisher of the book Wayne Bell has stated, “It is an informational piece to help educate children on events on 9/11.”
What are your thoughts, do you think this is a great informative tool for children, or do you think this is not suitable for children? Do you think this coloring book could form a negative opinion of all Muslims to children?
