F is for Fun Times!
One of my favorite things is Sunday morning breakfasts. I usually will make pancakes or waffles with sausage and serve fruit. The kids love it and they will help me sometimes. One day we decided to make Cinnamon Roll Waffles because we thought it would be fun and it was! All you have to do is place one cinnamon roll in each waffle slot {I have a Belgium waffle maker so I heat up four at a time}, close the lid, wait about a minute and your hot cinnamon waffles are done! Drizzle the icing on top and enjoy!
One day the kids wanted to make banana bread. Lucky for them I had banana’s that needed to be saved! They found my recipe card and started baking away! I must say, it was fun to watch them working together, following directions and seeing them get excited to try their very own loaves of bread! They each made their own so they also had their own mini-bake off!
Both loaves turned out great! I was so proud of my kiddos! They have inherited their mothers love for baking! Yay me!
During the winter Olympics, we decided to make Olympic Pancakes! They really loved making these! They added all the colors {didn’t they turn out bright and colorful???} and my oldest used a large circle cookie cutter to cut out the center. We have had so much fun with our Sunday breakfasts that I hope this becomes a fun family tradition that we can keep up at least once a month when they are all grown and out on their own. If not, I’ll just have to invite myself over to their houses on Sunday mornings!
What do you enjoy doing as a family? Do you have any fun family traditions that you have started?
Wow! Your breakfasts ideas are so creative and fun! I love the idea of cinnamon waffles! Yum! 🙂
Thank you! We like to have fun with our food! 🙂
