This past weekend the family and I took to the road to go visit my parents for my dads birthday. On the way we stopped at the Promenade in Bolingbrook. I was notified that Famous Footwear was going to be hosting a grand opening event and was asked to stop by and check it out, so I did! Outside the store they had a local shoe artist there customizing shoes for customers, a local radio station {WKSC-FM, 103.5} was there {giving away some tickets for Six Flags which I don’t think I won} and you could hear music coming from the DJ they had spinning music inside the store.
When we walked in we were greeted by employees asking us to fill out their giveaway form because they were giving away free pairs of shoes, every hour on the hour and they had special in-store promotions. At the time we went, they were offering an extra 20% off all Sketchers! So after we filled out the form, we walked around the store checking out all the sections.
They had a nice selection of shoes for the whole family. In the back they had their clearance items and they did have a nice selection of trendy shoes for moms, dads and kids. I found a nice pair of Sketchers but we opted to look for shoes for my son. He never gets anything when we go out so this was a special treat for him. While we were there you could text “myvictory” to the number they provided us with and you could win a free pair of shoes, and various discounts. I won 30% off my entire purchase! That was a GREAT treat!
My son found a pair of high-top Vans that he just LOVED so of course, how could I say no?
We didn’t end up winning the hourly drawing for the free pair of shoes, but we did walk away with these bad boys for only *about $25.00 –not too shabby!
