I try to eat healthy but my addiction to chocolate always stands in the way. I start each day with a healthy shake because I can’t guarantee what I’m going to eat the rest of the day. The diet usually goes downhill after breakfast but at least I “drank” my greens early. Here is the recipe:
1 hand full of Kale
(you have no idea how healthy Kale is…they call it the superfood)
1 banana
4-5 frozen strawberries or a hand full of blueberries
blueberries are healthier because they have antioxidants they also turn the drink purple which is great for the kids
1/2 cup vanilla almond milk
2 table spoons of ground Flax seed
1/2 cup coconut water (I use Zico)
4-5 ice cubes
Put in blender and pulse for a bit then let blend for about 3 minutes
I promise that you will not know you’re drinking Kale–other than the fact that the smoothie is green. I love it, and even my husband is now a believer…My kids still can’t get past the green color.
Now back to Coconut Water….My kids LOVE this drink! Instead of those sugary dye filled sports drinks the little ones now drink Zico Coconut Water in all of the flavors.
