Pop It! {popcorn treat} – Review + Giveaway

Is your family a popcorn family?  Do you consume insane amounts of popcorn in a weeks time?  My family loves popcorn.  We can easily pop 5-6 bags of popcorn a week.  We are in the Chicagoland area and there is nothing better than a Chicago Mix popcorn {that is cheese popcorn mixed with caramel popcorn} that makes your heart skip a beat or two.  However, we had the extreme pleasure of testing and reviewing Pop It! Top It! Snickerdoodle candy-coated popcorn.  For not even knowing what snickerdoodle was, my kids were dying to try this product out, mainly because it says “candy” on the packaging!  My son and I love to cook and bake together and anything that allows me to interact with my kids is something I love already.

When you receive your Pop it! TOP IT! Candy-coated Snickerdoodle flavored popcorn treat, it comes in a brown little bag tied together with a little raffia.  The bag includes a microwave bag of popcorn, candy coating, and their top-secret topping.  There are a total of 3 very easy steps to complete this tasty treat.

1.  Pop the popcorn as instructed on the microwaveable bag {like you’re used to with any other microwave popcorn}.

2.  Place the candy coating in a microwave-safe container and microwave for 30 seconds, remove and stir and if it isn’t completely heated through, repeat this step until it is fully melted.  While the candy coating was melting, I emptied the popcorn onto a sheet of wax paper {parchment paper} and removed the unpopped kernels.  Then I placed the popcorn in a bowl {it was easier this way for me to get the kernels out without burning my fingers}.

3.  Once the popcorn was in the bowl and the candy was fully melted, I poured the candy-coating onto the popcorn and stirred gently until it was fully coated.  Once I was done, I slowly poured the pack of secret topping into the popcorn and again, mixed gently until it was all coated.  Then I poured the popcorn back onto the wax paper and let it cool completely.  Once it was cooled, you just break off and eat!  I stored it in a Ziploc bag and it was able to stay fresh for a couple days.

When it came time to taste, everyone was interested.  I tasted it first, then my son.  We both about died.  It was so amazingly good!  We couldn’t help but continue munching!  Then we thought it was time to introduce this tasty goodness to my two other children who also have an enormous sweet tooth.  They about died too!  It was like nothing any of us have ever tasted!  EVER!!  It was THAT good!

For just $7.00 a bag, this treat would make a great Teacher’s gift or an awesome gift for any popcorn fanatic!  Add it to a movie and boxed candy and you have the ultimate snowy day gift!
