We recently celebrated my son’s 6th birthday gator style! We wanted a fun summer style party and new that a gator was perfect! He loves aquariums, the zoo, and animals. He also loves the color blue so we decided upon a blue and white with some green and a tiny bit of orange is thrown in there. 🙂
{Real Party} Alligator Party
He also loves to paint. So, when I found these awesome wood gators that you can paint yourself, I knew those would the be perfect party favor. Plus, the gators came with paint brushes and paints! Awesome deal! So, I set up a “Paint Your Own Gator” station for the kids to paint and then take home with them.
For decor, I had some fabulous pillows hand made for me by Lisa from Cottontail Creations. They were the perfect decor for our living room area since we really didn’t have any actual decorations in that part and the area the party was held is connected to the living room. It tied it all together and could not have been happier.

We hand painted the canvases and applied a gator decal to them. We also hand made the cabana using a tutorial we found on Pinterest. However, the tutorial was extremely off in dimensions and sizes and even materials used had basically had to start from scratch. (A strong wind the night before collapsed our cabana and had to rebuild, quickly, about 30min before party, hence reason it looks a mess).

Love this party! My name is Jillian Tohber Leslie and I am the founder of Catch My Party (http://catchmyparty.com/). I’ve recently begun blogging about parties and party planning for Spoonful (http://www.spoonful.com), the Disney family website.
I’m putting together a post for Spoonful on Alligator Parties and I was wondering if I can include a photo from this post of yours in my post. I will of course link back to your blog. Spoonful is a super popular site, so it’s a great way to gain increased exposure.
Let me know what you think. If you’re okay with it, I’ll email you once the post is up on Spoonful so you can check it out and share it with your friends.
Best,
Jillian
