Strawberry Banana Smoothie
When trying to think of a summer drink, I didn’t know what I was going to select only because I am not an alcohol drinker and I am rather boring when it comes to drinking something other than water or a diet coke. There is only one drink that is my go-to drink and that’s a Strawberry Banana smoothie. I know, it’s not exactly earth-shattering or something super cool that gets the girls talking. Nope it just a boring old smoothie. It does have a back story though. I first fell in love with the strawberry banana smoothie because when my husband and I went to Disney World one year they had this perfect smoothie that we got from Downtown Disney.
So how do I make it? It requires four simple ingredients; strawberries, banana, pineapple and skim milk. That’s it. Nothing more, nothing less…just four things.
I start with about 10 frozen strawberries, one full ripe banana and three chunks of pineapple. All the fruits I use for my smoothies are fresh and/or frozen.
I also usually pour a full cup of skim milk, but maybe only use about 1/2 a cup. Depends how thick or thin I want it. And then, I use my handy dandy Vita-Mix to smoothie it all up!
Add everything together and blend….
And wha-la…a fresh strawberry banana smoothie! Top it with some whipped cream and add a straw and you’ve just made the best summer drink. Well, it’s the best in my book!
