This is a fav in our house! Kid and husband approved!
What you will need:
Meatballs –
1lb ground beef
Worcestershire Sauce, to taste
3 tbsp breadcrumbs (I prefer Italian style)
oregano, to taste
1 egg, slightly beaten
salt and pepper, to taste
1 clove of garlic, minched
2 tbsp vegetable oil
Sauce –
1 tbsp vegetable oil
1/2 cup onion, chopped
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
2 tbsp vinegar, white distilled. (Do not use apple cider vinegar, taste will be off. Trust me.)
1tsp lemon juice
1 cup ketchup
2 tbsp soy sauce
For meatballs: Mix all ingredients (minus oil) together. Form into balls. Fry in oil until golden then place on paper towel to drain. Set aside
For Sauce: In medium saucepan, fry onion in oil until tender. Add all other sauce ingredients and simmer 20 minutes. Add meatballs and cook 1 hour on medium. I usually cook for about 30-45min so I do not over cook and dry out the meatballs.
Serve and Enjoy!
