And the scale revealed….
My regular weigh in day was Wednesday but I went to get on my scale and of course, after one week of restarting the simply filling technique on my own, the batteries were dead. That meant I had to suspend my weigh in until today because I had to go out and buy batteries.
The last week went pretty well. I’m actually very proud of myself. I made much better choices for snacks which was one of my biggest downfalls. Instead of reaching for chips, cakes or candy, I opted for an apple, orange or strawberries. That alone is a huge step for me so I kept my focus on my snacking. I was kinda sorta following the simply filling technique but I also did count points and would flip flop back and forth as it suited my needs. Needless to say I was petrified to get on the scale.
I also make sure I ate the right size portions for lunch and dinner because those two are the biggest meals I eat. I even ate things like pan pizza and lasagna! I just made sure that my servings were smaller and that I didn’t overindulge in things that didn’t have as much nutritional value. I even went out after work and packed a lunch that I ate quietly in the car. I opted for thin seedless rye bread with some lean thin turkey breast, mustard, tomato and lettuce. It made me feel so good to know that I; saved money and that I really did feel better that day. Not for the health factor per say but because I knew I made the right choice.
I wore my pedometer and realized that I don’t walk or move around nearly enough. It is a goal of mine for this week to talk at least 5000 steps. I’ve been averaging about 4000 steps. I need to keep moving and pushing it forward. I know I’ll get there.
Now for the weight update. I was pleasantly surprised when I got on the scale that I lost 3.4 pounds this week! My first week and I’ve learned a lot and I’ve lost more than I thought I would!
So, that was my exciting weigh in …how was yours?
