We are very excited to have Holes in the line up this month. It happens to be my oldest daughters favorite book and movie. If you haven't heard about Holes, it revolves around delinquents who go away to a detention camp and are forced to dig hole after hole.
While I was out shopping, I walked through the kitchen utensil aisle, because I like to try and figure out what half that stuff is used for and came across the mason jars. I looked at the biggest one and had a thought. What if I put my lettuce in this big mason jar? Will my lettuce stay fresh? Will it keep longer? I figured, why not give it a try. What do I have to lose? I couldn’t wait to get home and test out my theory!
We haven't painted our kitchen and family room for about fourteen years. Just imagine if you will, all the little handprints, wall dents, and holes that accumulate over fourteen years. It was definitely time to dig out our paint brushes and get to updating.
Are you a Beatles fan? How about a cute cartoon fan? Ok, how about a Netflix fan? If you said yes to any of those, you are going to LOVE the new Netflix Original animated series, Beat Bugs. We are a music loving family so this series really captured our hearts as well as our ears.
I usually have an overabundance of school supplies because I am addicted to them so - I always think I need more than I do. I didn't have to go far to shop this year. I just walked down the stairs to the basement where I found my big box of school goodies.
I am very passionate about the products I love and I like to share that passion with my readers. If there is a product I can't live without, you'll know about it too. I share my likes (and dislikes) on social media (sometimes more than once) and I also tell family, friends and neighbors about these fantabulous products. I love word of mouth advertising and I being in the know for new and up and coming products. It isn't just about the product though. If your brand has displayed outstanding customer service, I will be just as excited to spread the word! Excellent customer services and top quality products are what makes my heart go pitter patter!
We usually have one “taco-ish” dish every week, just like we have one pasta dish every week. It’s how I roll. One day I was looking for something different to make and I stumbled upon a taco pie. I believe it was directly from the roll or croissants where they said to use the dough as the pie crust. I more or less adapted that recipe into something that my kids devour when ever I make it. It’s made very similar to my Taco Quesadillas. It is a quick & easy taco bake that the whole family will love! Guaranteed!
There are certain times when professional invitations and thank you notes are most appropriate (in my opinion) and those would be personalized wedding and birth announcements, holiday and thank you cards and any other major life event. I get it that sometimes you either can’t afford fancy invites or thank you notes, other times it’s just a matter of timing. I’ve been there, done that, many times over!
Yay! Friday, July 29th is National Lasagna Day! For us Italian folks, that’s a big deal! I remember growing up, Sunday was always a special time because we would go to my Grandma’s for dinner. Our Sunday dinners were at 3:00 and we would eat all the lasagna or pasta that we could. I sure do miss my Grandma’s lasagna. I could never replicate her recipe even if I tried. Since I can’t make it to save my life, I have found 30 different amazing lasagna recipes (for dinner AND dessert) to satisfy all your pasta lovin’ needs!
My kids are always saying and doing things that make me question where they’ve learned it or how they come up with these things. I am reminded that we have Netflix and nine times out of ten, they will have learned it from watching their favorite shows or different movies.
