    Netflix & National Siblings Day

    #StreamTeam

Siblings Day! Whoops, I missed that one!  The nation celebrated National Siblings Day on April 10, 2016 and while I have my younger brother to be grateful for, we didn’t celebrate the day with cake….which makes me sad because I LOVE cake!  And, even though we aren’t spending a lot of time together, we still have had some great conversations about our favorite Netflix series and have agreed that the Sons of Anarchy has been the best by far!!!

    Happy National Siblings Day!

But, I digress.  As you’re aware, I have three children and they are always streaming something on some device but when it comes to watching Netflix there’s always a struggle because they enjoy different types of shows and while their ages are only three years apart, my oldest and youngest are 6 years apart.  The younger one prefers to watch shows like Fuller House or Home, but if you catch my oldest on a day that she is feeling a bit more childlike, she will happily sit and watch.  My son is off in la-la-gamingland half the time so he’s not one that is typically around to watch tv but when he is around, he needs an action packed movie or series.

What we like is that Netflix now has playlists that features shows geared toward different types & ages of kiddos.

A Tale of Two Distant Ages (My kids favorite)d

Fret no longer, this playlist caters to both your 5-year-old AND your 14-year-old. Click here for the full collection, or in my case, my 11 year old and my 17 year old.

    Sugar and Spice

One kid’s sassy (my younger one), the other one’s sweet (my older one).

    Meet in the Middle

Deciding on a genre is the hardest when it comes to watching together. From comedy to action, this playlist includes titles that have a little bit of everything for everyone.

    Must Watch TV

Whether long distance or right next door, these days, adult siblings are also bonding over what they’re watching. Difference is you’re no longer fighting over the remote and are instead championing your favorite Netflix title to get your brother or sister hooked on the same shows. Here are a few that are sure to win you some big-time street cred.

Netflix wants siblings everywhere (of all ages) to get along famously, no matter their differences in show tastes. That’s why they have created Netflix Sibling Playlists to honor National Siblings Day (April 10th). During the month of April, kids can choose from playlists such as the “Tale of Two Distant Ages” to “Sugar and Spice” and more, offering something for every sibling squad to watch and enjoy together.  So, while I am a bit late in posting this, you can still enjoy the playlists for another couple weeks! 🙂

Have you discovered the playlists?  How have you or your kids been using them?
