With it being summer, the kids often get bored. You’ll hear, “there’s nothing to do”, or the famous, “I’m bored”, and when that happens, it’s my cue to turn on Netflix and see what is new and interesting for them to watch. With school being out, lets head for the documentaries! There are some really great titles for kids of all ages to watch! Just because they are out of school, doesn’t mean they can’t still be learning about our world.
For the older ones, {12 & up} these are great titles to check out:
1. Louis & Clark: The Journey Out West
2. Walking with Dinosaurs {which is one of our favorites – can you imagine what it would be like to have lived during the time that Dinosaurs roamed the land?}
3. Secret Yellowstone
4. The Blue Planet
5. When We Left Earth: The NASA Missions {with us going to Florida, this is also a must see}
And, for the littles….
1. The Great Mouse Detective
2. Busytown Mysteries {my kids love Busytown}
3. LeapFrog: Math Adventures to the Moon
4. Turtle: The Incredible Journey {with Gianna into fishing and anything in the sea, ocean or a body of water, this is another great hit for us}
5. The Magic School Bus
To make the docu-day even more fun, try adding a game or snack like the ones suggested below:
Give your child a chance to activate their imagination and come up with their own story book adventure with these Story Cubes!
And sweetin the deal with these Strawberry-Yogurt Swirl Popsicles!
When the day is done, you will spark your child’s imagination, fed their soul with sweet yumminess, and they will have greater knowledge of the world around them! It’s a definite win, win & win!
