That’s right, this is the best banana bread recipe…ever! I am not sure where it originated but it’s the only recipe I will use to make banana bread. It’s quick, simple and extremely tasty!
I swear, when ever I make this banana bread, it is gone in less than 30 minutes from when it comes out of the oven. It’s just that good. My kids take big slices and if I’m lucky, I may get away with one regular bread slice size! I usually will make two of them if I can, one for me {hahaha} and one for the other 4 people in the house! Last night that wasn’t the case. I used all the banana’s to make this loaf extra banana-y and it was super moist! YUMMO!
Here’s how you make it:
- 1 3/4 cups of flour
- 2/3 cup of sugar
- 1/3 cup of butter
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 2 eggs
- 2-4 ripe banana's {depends on your taste - I like adding more banana's if I have them}
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Mix 1 cup of flour with the sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
- Mash banana and add that to the flour mixture.
- Add the butter to the flour mixture.
- Add the milk to the flour mixture.
- Mix until blended and then an additional 2 minutes on low.
- Add the remaining flour and 2 eggs until well blended.
- Place in greased loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and let cool.
- Serve plain or add butter!
Again, I have no idea where I found this recipe as it’s been in my family since I’ve been married and I just have it written on a very worn out 3.5×5 note card so now I am passing the note card along to you! May you and your family enjoy the best banana bread recipe for many years to come! 🙂
This looks delish (and easy enough that I may actually try it!)
