…Of lasting a full week in my house. Nope, they did not. I received a box of the Chocolate and Strawberry Kraft Milkbite Milk & Granola bars and within three days, both boxes were completely gone. Was I surprised, no. They have officially been kid tested…and I approve!
These tasty little treats are made with real milk, 30% of the daily recommended value so they are a great source of calcium. They were (I must speak in past tense) 140 calories per bar for the chocolate and strawberry bars and have 3 grams of fiber. They are really excellent cold, however I can see where that may pose as a problem for some. I’m used to having granola snacks on the go, leaving them in the car while I run errands and just having it when I feel the need for a snack. Unless you are packing it for lunch, in a small lunch tote with an ice pack, this may not be a great grab and go snack for you…and you couldn’t leave it in your diaper bag for weeks on end. However, aside from the refrigeration required, they are extremely flavorful. I couldn’t tell I was really even eating a granola snack when I ate the chocolate flavored bar and the strawberry bar had real strawberry pieces throughout making me feel as if I were really treating myself to great healthy little snack filled with fresh fruit. If you can get the kids to eat them without a question, or smirks of disgust on their faces, then I’d say we hit the jackpot here!
They can be found at your local retailer in the refrigerated dairy section (*hint, by the milk), retail for $3.49 a box and come in five different flavors, Chocolate, Strawberry, Peanut Butter (hello, gonna be trying that one next), Oatmeal Raisin and Mixed Berry. Go ahead and try these, and when you do, let us know what you think of them! I bet you’re going to like them too!
