Usually, summer comes with excessive heat, however, in this neck of the woods, summer is more like spring so my needs are a bit off from what I’d usually require. I have thought a lot about what my Must-Have’s are and I think I’ve come up with three pretty good ones.
Shine a little light!
1. Sun. Seems simple enough in the summer right? WRONG! In the Chicagoland area, we’ve had a less than usual amount of sun this summer. I’m used to warming summer sun. Instead, this summer has been so gloomy and the sun has been nowhere to be found most days. It’s almost the middle of July and we are wearing jackets and long sleeves at night and all it wants to do is rain. The summer has been so boring for the kids and we haven’t been enjoying it as much as we have had in years past. I miss the sun and I need it. It’s a MUST-HAVE for summer, don’t you think?
Cooling Off!
2. Air Conditioning. I NEED air conditioning. While I enjoy the sun and wish to see more of it, I really love my air conditioning. Sweating when I sleep is the worst and I hate having the windows open. I prefer to sleep with my ceiling fan on {yes, it’s not the most pretty of things to have to hang from the ceiling but it serves its purpose}, no comforter or sheets on and I’m not sure if that’s a pre-menopausal thing or I’m just really, really hot when I sleep nowadays, and I hate sleeping with socks on and avoid it at all cost. I enjoy being hit in the face with cold air after coming in from the outside. Although this summer, I have had my air on less {which is great financially}, but I do miss the cold air in my house. Air Conditioning – It’s a MUST-HAVE for summer, don’t you think?
Icy Treats!
3. Freeze Pops. Nothing and I mean nothing says summer like a freeze pop. I could eat those things like chocolate, usually one of each color at night. Original Fla-vo-ice freeze pops are the best ever! I will buy them by the box full during the summer months. They make me feel like a kid again and I know that they are a definite sign of summer in this house; even if the weather isn’t cooperating. It’s a MUST-HAVE for summer, don’t you think?
