NnnnnnnnnnLast summer my mom was redoing her kitchen and she had this painted wood ladder over her kitchen island that was used to hang pots off of. She was taking it down and throwing it out. But, I was able to snatch it up before she did so. I wasn’t quite sure what to do with it at the time, but I knew I wanted it. For something.
After searching on Pinterest one day I came across some blanket ladders. Simply stated, a blanket ladder is a wooden ladder that has a blanket draped over its spindle. I discovered a great idea and what I could use that old wooden ladder for….and got to work.
DIY Blanket Ladder
First I sanded down the wood base to make sure there were no splinters or rough, sharp patches.
Next, I decided to stain it because I thought it would create a nice rustic look. I found a mahogany stain we already had on hand and got to work!
I waited the allotted time for it to dry and found the perfect place in our living room for it.
It fit perfectly and it added a nice touch to my living room. I was able to display a monogrammed blanket that we already had! It was a quick, simple project and makes a great piece for our living room.
