Guess what? For most kids, school is out for winter break. Some parents are happy, some are sad. I tend to lean towards the “some parents are happy” spot on the scale only because I work in a school. So, being with 500 a day as opposed to being with 3 who are rarely seen, winter break is like heaven to me. For those that are on the sad side of the scale, you probably will be hearing a lot of this…”I’m bored”…even though they just received a toy store full of goodies for Christmas. Am I right? Tell the kids to sit back, relax, and watch the many adventure’s on Netflix!
What can you do to combat hearing those particular words? How about doing a little binge watching with the Trollhunters? It’s an all-new series from DreamWorks that is filled with adventures, suspense, and limitless imagination…13 hours to be exact!
It doesn’t have to end at just watching the new series, though. You can also use some extra time to create a DIY sword and armor! (Click on image to open a .pdf printable copy)
Or bring the magic to life by making the Aargh approved gemstone candy using the recipe below. (Click on image to open a .pdf printable copy)
And, if that doesn’t cure the boredom blues, you can have the kiddos check out some of these other great shows airing now on Netflix.
And since we are entering the end of the year, you are probably going to need some New Years Eve suggestions, right? How about celebrating a little early with the kiddos and check out some of these other good shows perfect for kids.
Do your kids keep asking you how many more sleeps they have until it’s New Years Eve? If so, click on the image below to download and print your own Netflix New Years Eve Countdown door hanger! It will help kids know when the big night is and will help alleviate the “When is New Years Eve?” questions….
Do you have any big plans for New Year’s Eve or will you be hanging (hahaha no pun intended) at home to ring in the new year? Feel free to share your plans in the comments. I am always looking for more ideas on how to celebrate with kids!
