This was always one of my favorite dinners to make and when I first got married I made it all the time. I’m not sure why, but I stopped making it. Probably because I get tired of making the same meals over and over again but my husband isn’t one for change. He’s my biggest critic. One day I decided to get back to my “basics” of my cooking and tested this out on my kids. Turns out, they loved it! I guess I’ll be making it more frequently again.
It’s a simple meal to make when you just don’t have time to make anything real fancy. Just dice a couple celery stalks and you’re good to go…
and you have a delicious dinner that will make your tummy thank you!
- 4-6 pork chops
- salt
- pepper
- 1/2 cup celery
- 1/2 cup uncooked rice
- 1 can french onion soup
- 1 can water
- Brown pork chops in a skillet {about 5 minutes each side}. While pork chops are browning, wash and dice celery {about 2 stalks}. When pork chops are done, drain fat and season them with salt and pepper to your liking. Add the can of soup and one can of water along with the celery to the skillet with the pork chops. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in uncooked rice, cover and cook for 20 additional minutes or until rice is tender.
- You can serve with any vegetable of your choice. We usually use corn or broccoli.
I have one question for you … Will you come to my house tonight and cook dinner? Please?
I’ll give you Oreos.
This looks so good!

OMG, that’s the way to win me over for sure! Oreos are amazing! I was going to try my hand at chocolate covered oreos on a stick this week! NOT good for the diet, but so good if I can manage eating only one! 🙂
This recipe looks easy and yummy. Which are my main requirements for any recipe. Can’t wait to try!
