    We Survived the Winter Blast

Yes, it was a cold, very cold and blistery day but some little girl wanted to go outside and play.  This wasn’t the -28 degree day even though she begged and pleaded with me to go outside.  My best parenting skills kicked in and I said “NO, no you may not go outside and play!”, then I suddenly became the most hated Mom on the planet.  Though the day prior she was outside, playing and giggling and having fun with our pooch, Dakota.  For some reason when ever you are outside and you have gloves on, he automatically wants to eat you.  It’s like some weird signal to him that you instantly became the “bad” guy of the backyard, simply because you were wearing gloves.  Here is the sequence of events…

    Girl and Dog go outside:

Dog notices the glove on Girls hand…

    Dog takes the Girl down…

Dog tries to eat little Girl…

    Girl is defeated…

So Girl takes a moment to gather her thoughts…

Then decides to build a Snow Chair & calls it a day…

It was so funny to watch the action unfold.  I never laughed so hard in my life.  I’d say it was a pretty good, and fun day out in the snow.  However, the bitter, bone chilling -28 degrees that followed…well, not so fun.  I don’t mind being snowed in from time to time, but we were snowed in for four days.  My eyes actually hurt today when I went to go get the mail because I hadn’t seen the outdoors for so long!  That’s how we spent our snowed in day…what did you do, anything fun?

    1. Wonderful post, we have been going through the cold weather and tons of snow here as well. It was actually so cold the one day and my kids wanted to go out that instead of bundling them up I got two bowls, went outside and filled them up with snow. Then allowed the kids to play with the snow on the kitchen table!! They had a blast with it!! Aka mommy brought outside inside!!!

      • Doing that is only fun when you don’t have a big dog and lots of {you know} back there! LOL I’d be afraid to have it on my kitchen table, ewww, lol! Gianna wanted to make a real “snow” cone and I had to veto that idea rather quickly! 😉
