My Taco Quesadillas are the BOMB!!
A couple of my friends on Facebook asked what was for dinner & to share some family-friendly dinner ideas. I replied to both of them stating I made Taco Quesadillas. When they heard that, they wanted to know what it was and how I made it. I told them I’d blog about it and here I am…blogging about it.
So what is a taco quesadilla? One night {a long time ago} I was bored with the regular taco so I tried to think of a different way to make it so that it wasn’t so boring. Over that weekend we had cheese quesadillas at a restaurant, so thought, why not make a taco quesadilla? And I did. My family loves tacos but now after making this as long as I have, I think they enjoy this recipe more.
To Make Your Quesadilla You’ll Need
1-1.5 pounds of Ground Beef {or turkey if you’re into that}
1/4-1/2 cup of salsa
2-3 Tbsp of Taco Sauce
1 Tbsp Chili Powder
1 package of Taco Seasoning
1/4-1/2 cup of water
1 package of shredded cheddar cheese
8-12 small soft taco shells
Onion, Lettuce, Tomato and Sour Cream on the side
What you do:
Brown your ground beef until it’s fully cooked. Drain any fat and return to your pan. Add all your ingredients to your beef and bring to a boil and remove from heat.
I spray both sides lightly with cooking spray and place 3 shells on a cookie sheet. Divide your meat mixture into 4-5 parts. Add one part of the meat mixture on top of one shell and repeat with the other two. I can only fit 3 shells on a cookie sheet at a time. After you’ve added the meat mixture, top with shredded cheddar cheese and place one shell on top to complete your quesadilla.
Place in the oven on 400 degrees a cook for 10 minutes {or until golden brown} and flip, cooking the other side until fully golden brown. Once all are golden brown, remove from oven and make the rest of the quesadillas using the remaining mixture, shells, and cheese and repeat the cooking instructions.
Slice into quarters using a pizza cutter and serve with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, sour cream, taco sauce, etc…
