How do you start your day? That’s an easy one! I start my day with a Pomeranian at my head and a German Shepard/Husky mix at my rear. Seriously! My alarm goes off at 6:00 a.m. (with the animals in the appropriate places) and I’m out of bed by 6:10. I hate getting up early. A morning person I am not.
How Do You Start Your Day?
Once out of bed, I go straight to the bathroom and start my morning routine. I don’t leave my bathroom until I’m ready to go downstairs for the day because the dogs will go crazy and won’t leave me alone. It sounds very similar to me hiding in the bathroom trying to escape my kids when they were younger. Come to think of it, I still hide from them in the bathroom!
I leave the bathroom one time after washing my face, my teeth and brushing or straightening my hair to get my clothes for the day. When I open the door, the big dog is sitting there waiting while the little one is staring at me from the bed across the room. I quickly grab my clothes and head back into the bathroom.
Heading Downstairs
While I hold the little one like a football down the stairs, the big nearly trips me by racing to the patio doors. Once back inside, I’ll feed both dogs and let them out…again. While they’re out I’m making my lunch (in peace). I get the dogs back inside and head to the downstairs bathroom for the second phase of my beauty routine.
I like the lighting better in my downstairs bathroom. So, I put my make up on down there instead of doing it all in my master the first time. Meanwhile, I’m sticking my head out the door every 2 minutes to yell at the big dog to leave the little dog alone.
Putting on my makeup only takes about 15 minutes. Perhaps I’ll share that in a quick video one day! Now that my clothes are on along with my face and my lunch is made I’m ready to go to work. It’s now 7:20 a.m.
My Work Day
I am a middle school Special Ed Paraprofessional by day, blogger & virtual assistant when I can get it in. I am at school from 7:35 to 3:05. Some days it goes by slow, others it’s done in a blink of an eye. With this being Daylight Savings Time week, I am going to expect it to be tiring and long. Trying to get used to it getting dark by 5:00 takes a lot out of you. I still don’t know why it’s done. I always drink a Coke Zero in my Yeti in the morning. It just really gets me going. But anyway, once I put in my time, I’m ready to get home and do my thing!
My afternoon hours vary based on what I need to do. I might start off working on my virtual assistant client accounts and transition my way to paying household bills. Or, I might have to take care of some of my kid’s school things or perhaps write a blog post or two. No matter what, I’m usually busy until about 5:00. At that time I need to start thinking about dinner and getting that started.
It’s Time To Relax
We eat dinner as a family. I know this is a rare concept but it is the one thing that I hold near and dear to my heart. I love spending time with my family over food. We gather around the table and just talk about our day and whatever randomness enters the conversation.
After dinner, it’s COUCH TIME! YES! Finally, some time to relax that’s just for me! I will start to decompress with a variety of shows and movies. It’s that time of year so I’ve started my Hallmark Channel addiction! Mindless and predictable entertainment. I love it. I typically fall asleep on the couch around 10 and will wake up and go to my real bed around 1. I know I should just go up to bed but the couch is so comfy! Before I know it, it’s 6 a.m. and I start the process all over again.
