Word-A-Day Blog Challenge
February 1 – February 29
Welcome to the Word-A-Day Blog Challenge! I am always looking for ways to get creative with my writing so I figured why not create a challenge that will really challenge me. Mentally. Fact is, I’ve been in somewhat of a blogging/writing slump. One evening I was on Facebook and I was so tired of seeing all this negative stuff so I thought, why not focus every day on one positive word. I tried to find writing prompts that would be positive and fun to write about, would spark some creativity, and give me an opportunity to really dig deep and focus.
I’d love for you to join in the fun….said with a smile. All you have to do is save a copy of the calendar, print it out or come back and visit this page every day (which I’m sure you’d love to do, right?), pin it on Pinterest, share it on Instagram or Facebook….or just refer to it often however you’d like. After you’re done with writing your blog post, link it up! I am including a link up with this challenge so I can have an opportunity to see how you interpret the word of the day, and so others can enjoy your work too. I’ll be sharing some of my favorite blog posts with my newsletter subscribers so be sure to subscribe to see if your post is one of them! The only real rule I have is that you must be participating in the challenge to be selected. Also, there aren’t any requirements to add a button to your page however a nice link back to Verified Mom would be greatly appreciated! If you are on social media, you can follow along using the hashtag #wordadaychallenge. I’ll be retweeting all the links I see from my Twitter account!
The Word-A-Day Blog Challenge should be fun. Don’t over-think the word or put too much effort into your writing. I want this to spark some creativity within yourself and your words. Write about the first thing that comes to your mind when you see the word. Let the words flow! You got this! No pain, no gain. Challenge yourself. I know it won’t be easy, but I’m confident that you can and will complete this challenge. If you have completed all the days, leave me a comment! Who knows, I might reward those that do complete it every day!
So, are you ready to start? The official start date is February 1 and will run through February 29, 2016. I’m so excited!! Leave me a comment below with your URL if you plan on joining in!
I’d like to participate in this.

Awesome! I can’t wait to see what you come up with for the words!
This sounds like a great idea!!! And you have some words that will be interesting to write about! I don’t know that I will participate every day in February, but I might pick a couple of days to write about. Thank you for this cool link-up.

Looks like fun, but just the thought about writing a blog post everyday for a month makes me start sweating. I will be sure to follow along with you to see what you come up with! 🙂 I love the way the site looks.. 🙂
Haha!! Well, I’ll have a pool of it when I’m done! 😉
I’m in. I can always use some extra inspiration 🙂

I will be participating, Phyllis! It is 5 am on the 1st and I am going to start writing in less than 30 minutes. I have a distinctive plan and I am excited for this to be the final challenge I take on at my current blog and graduate to my new one (finally!)
